CARD of the DAY, SELF RELIANCE
I was so thrilled to draw this card from my Healing With The Fairies deck.
Just hours ago, I was engaged in an all too familiar conversation with a friend regarding “3 days 3 ways” preparedness.
We live in the Northwest, an area ripe for an earthquake, or other seismic event, like umm, a VOLCANO!
I am a HUGE fan of being prepared for anything. Part of it is my hyper-vigilance, and part of it is my astrological “blessing” (I am a double Capricorn). There is nothing more satisfying to me than a full cupboard, paid bills and a clean house. Then, I just sit and wait. I am kidding.. sort of.
I have been harassing my friends for years to get ready. Drawing this card is just the impetus that I need to remind you YET again, please get your earthquake kits ready.
If you are so inclined, there are a variety of pre-made types available at Amazon. Just order one, (dammit) so I can stop thinking about it!
For me, I feel better knowing that I have walking shoes, water and snacks in the car, in case I have to walk home. I also know where I will meet my family should we become separated for any reason in an earthquake, and I have a document with all my important account numbers on it with a relative out of state. These things are simple but would make a big difference in a crisis.
We are living in amazing times! I do believe in the goodness of people in times of crisis, to aid and assist each other, and to turn tragedy into hope, as is happening in Haiti right now! That said, there is nothing like Self Reliance, knowing that we have our own backs, and that we are our own best friends. We are the ones who can best care for ourselves, emotionally, and physically.
This card reminds us that when we feel frightened and overwhelmed, we sometimes look for someone to tell us it is going to be all right. Know that it will be all right. In reality, everything is as it should be at all times.
The message from the fairies in this case is that everything we need will be provided for us. We are capable of handling whatever comes our way, and when we don’t know, we will be guided onto the right path for us.
I have seen in my own life that this is what we learn through crisis. Real self reliance is really trust and confidence in your true self.
This card tells us that even when our manifestations funnel through others, they originate with our own thoughts. Being self reliant doesn't mean doing it all ourselves. It means knowing that we are part of the world. It means taking responsibility for ourselves and our environment. We really are the creator of our world.
You are as qualified and deserving as any other person. Your inner voice knows the way for you, and you can be confident that you will know what to do in each situation.
Soooo, PREPARE, and relax, and know you are in good hands.

JUST in CASE, by Kathy Harrison.
She is a fascinating and super hyper vigilant foster mother of hundreds of special needs children (really!) living somewhere in middle America with 2 cellars, and a 3 months supply of EVERYTHING. I ll bet she makes soap out of yams, too. It is written in a non alarmist manner with very practical advice. I highly recommend it.

Keep Calm and Carry On!

I had a dream last night where I was in a water-filled community style living place with all my luggage, kids, toys, and general crap. There was water everywhere, not yucky water, but everything was damp and moist, kind of like living at the Y in the locker rooms.
Then I went out to where the pool should be and looked up. The sky was a pool of water, just hanging there.

I was overwhelmed..

I wanted to go home. I realized that my luggage was everywhere, toys strew about, and on top of it all, I had a ton of dirty laundry to do before I packed.

I thought perhaps I should just stuff the laundry in a hefty bag and leave the crappy plastic toys at the Y, grab my kids and dogs and high tail it out of there!
Then, I saw my neighbor, Ann, getting ready to do her laundry at the facility we were in.
I thought about what might happen if my hefty bag came apart in the area where they will (certainly) inspect my bags at the airport…

Then I woke up.

If you are a dream analyzer, you’d have a great time with this one. But what I came up with is this:

While things are really looking crazy right now, and likely really to get much crazier…

It is tempting to think of stuffing our dirty laundry in a bag, abandoning our crap and heading “home”.

But in truth, most of us will be here long past 2012. There will most likely not be a neat and tidy end to the problems that we have created in this world. We will be here, stuck in this beautiful and treacherous community center, and sooner or later, we will have to wash our clothes.

Imagine showing up at the doors of the great beyond with dirty socks (or worse!) hanging from a shredded hefty bag..not pretty.

So I will keep calm and carry on, or in the words of my wise dad, (or really, Ivars) Keep Clam Man! And start scrubbing.

Welcome 2011. Shemeck 2010. No really, 2010 was not all bad, just challenging for me in many ways. I am here, back and ready for my next assignment, UNIVERSE! Bring it.

The Tooth Fairy and Why I ve Been Away

I've been absent for a long time from the blog. The reason mainly, is that my mother passed away September 18.
It's been a tough month or so, and I didn't have much to say.
But all that changed tonight with my reply to P's letter to the tooth fairy.
It reminds me of many things.
One, my mother is not here to see her silly toothless grin.
Two, life goes on.
Three, Yuck.

BUT in writing the reply to slip under her pillow-pet, I re gained some whimsey, some moxie and made myself LOL. So in that spirit, I share it with you.

Dear P,

 First of all, OF COURSE I REMEMBER YOU!!
You are very easy to remember, very unique and special.

WOW! You are in school, already? It seems like a long time since I was last here. You must be in Kindergarten. I know lots of kids from there in this neighborhood. It seems like Kindergarteners and 1^st graders are most of my business these days.

You have some very good questions. I will try to answer all of them.

I am a pretty small fairy. Not at all the smallest, but about as big as a baby hummingbird. I have special magic that allows me to slip through door cracks at houses ONLY when there is a tooth to be picked up. As soon as I retrieve the tooth, the magic ends and I cannot get back in.

I do live in somewhere like Fairyland. It is about as magical as you can imagine! Fairies of every kind, some angels and even unicorns and gnomes live there. It is beautiful weather and rainbows every single day!
There are 2 moons, and 3 suns, but we still have rainy days. That is what makes the Lumka plants bloom. If you can imagine all the most beautiful flowers in the world all mixed up to make one giant beautiful flower, that is the Lumka plant!

I do not wear glasses, but I do sometimes wear pads in my shoes. I usually fly everywhere I go and walking a lot hurts my feet as they are very pointy and small.

Well, I think that about answers your questions! If you have more, just leave them for me next time, I noticed that you have another loose one in there! I can’t wait!

Thank you so much for the tooth. Be a good girl, and work hard in school to learn to read and write. Be nice to T (yes, I saw him sleeping in here too!) and don’t eat too much candy at Halloween! I wonder what you’ll be???

Last weekend, I had my heart broken by a pomerainian puppy named "Beast".
I saw him and it made me miss my little Sascha so much! So much that I thought maybe, I need a puppy.
But, that's not what I really need. I just needed to be reminded that for everything, there is a season, as they say.
The card of the day says this perfectly!

Card of the Day MAKE A DECISION!

Today's Card of the Day is MAKE A DECISION!
This is such an appropriate card. As you may or may not know, there are all kinds of astrological happenings currently that implore us to FENCE SIT NO LONGER!
So this is indeed a timely draw!
If there are decisions that you know need to be made (oh yes, its THAT one!) then do it. You know what you need to do, and the time is NOW for movement. Don't waste the opportunity of the whole of heaven at your back with this one.
Saturn is ready to aim and smack us into shape. It is far preferable to be ahead of the pressure of such a force.
So whatever it is that you have been putting off, thinking that someday you'll do, get to, stop, or change, today is someday.
Know also that moving forward, indecision is no longer an option.
Be bold and make your decision today!

Card of the Day (ARG) Be Willing to Forgive!

Today's Card is from the Angel Therapy deck. BE WILLING TO FORGIVE.
This card reminds us that the angels support us in forgiveness. This card is a call to heal past anger. Holding onto past experiences acts as a magnet attracting more of the same to our side! Why is that? the law of attraction, or "what you think about you create". Its that simple.
Well, not really.
Forgiveness is a HUGE spiritual topic. It reaks of spirituality, and sounds really really good, until you try to DO it.
what would forgiveness actually look like?
Try this.
Last week, I came home after a long day. Already suffering from a few sleepless nights, exhausted, I opened a letter, oh wait, TWO letters from Chase Bank.
It turns out that I had inadvertanly used my debit card TWICE before my auto deposit had arrived in my account. Long irritating story short, this oversight on my part ended up costing over 120$ in fees, all my extra cash for the week.
No problem, I thought, I ll call them and get them to reverse it. It's a simple mistake!
Well, Chase had other ideas. Suffice it to say, they declined to reverse the charges, and I had to pay up.
I was FUMING about this. It turns out, most banks will default to overdraft and you can select NOT to have them do it. I didn't know this, and now I guess its a federal law that goes into effect in August that they have to give you the option in writing. Meaning that they will simply not pay items that come through if the funds are not there. No more 40$ overdraft fees on 4$ popcorn purchases for them. No wonder that didn't want to reverse the charges, it was like their last meal!
I spent a good deal of energy being angry about this, and finally had to call in ALL my resources to see what was really going on. How did I do this?
ARG! Forgiveness!
I asked myself, "what about this experience is making me angry? What is it showing me, about MYSELF? What can I learn about this to let it go?
etc etc, you get the ANNOYING idea!
So what I came up with was it was telling me that:
1) I have too many accounts, and debit cards, simplify!
2) I have need to pay better attention to my money, and READ the notices that come from the bank about fees and etc
3) My money is my responsibility
So, I came up with a few more that are so irritatingly true, I cannot bring myself to type them.
In the end, the whole experience was an inexpensive and timely message from the universe.
This is the way it works people!
The path is not BIG HUGE revelations, usually, its the small very very hard looks in the mirror.
This is why forgiveness is key. It will keep showing up UNTIL you get it, too! If I ignored this, and kept being angry, likely something worse would have happened until I got the message. SO, I forgive you, Chase Bank, NAY....
I THANK YOU Chase Bank, for being the vehicle of my enlightenment...
I think I just threw up a little,
ARG.
Be brave, and do a little forgiveness today. It doesn't hurt.. much.
